Dear EFRA volunteers, players and families,
As 2020 comes to end, and we wind down session 2 of our season, I thank you all for your support and participation in keeping our association going over the last few months. It certainly has not been the season we were all hoping for and there has been a lot of learning and adjusting along the way.
Through it all, I have been SO proud of how everyone has pulled together to get on the ice and provide our players with continued opportunities to develop as players, be active and have fun.
Looking ahead to the next week and further to session 3, I wanted to flag a few items.
- It’s always a possibility that with COVID-19 cases rising in our area, our public health unit may move from the Province of Ontario's ORANGE (Restrict) level to their RED (Control) level. This will have a significant impact on the allowable building capacities; and changes how our players and coaches are grouped.
- Should we move to RED next week, we will suspend programming, ending session 2 and cancelling our remaining ice times currently scheduled on December 17, 19, and 20.
- In looking ahead to Session 3, our hope is that we stay in Orange (Restrict) or eventually improve to Yellow or Green. However, we will also prepare alternate programming that can go into effect under Red (Control) if needed. Our goal is to provide opportunities for our players to continue playing ringette for as long as we can, as long as it is safe to do so.
- To do this effectively, we will need to base decisions on the registration numbers confirmed at our deadline on December 11th. We thank you in advance for ensuring your registration fees are provided by that time. Click here for the latest registration information if helpful: https://elorafergusringette.ca/Pages/2190/2020_21_Registration/
- During Session 3, if we are required to suspend or halt programming, we will offer prorated refunds accordingly which can be returned to players or held in player accounts for next season.
- We are in the process of migrating EFRA’s website to RAMP. We feel this will provide our members with a better user-experience, particularly because of the potential integrations with the RAMP registration system and RAMP Team apps. As a result, a few things will change, including our EFRA email addresses. Thanks to the immense help by Kyle Stirbet, we are working to make the transition as seamless as possible, but there is always the risk of a hiccup or two. We appreciate everyone’s patience over the next month or so as we make this transition.
- We have extra EDGE face-masks (adult and youth sizes) available for sale for $12.50 each. To make a purchase, please submit payment via eTransfer to [email protected]elorafergusringette.ca and be sure to indicate in the transfer comments the number and size of the masks purchased. Once received, we can provide instructions for pick-up.
Please reach out anytime if you have questions.
In the meantime, I hope everyone keeps well and has a lovely holiday break.
Sincerely,
June Perry, Chair, EFRA Board of Directors
