Registration Policy & Procedures

Thank you for your interest in registering with EFRA

By registering, you are agreeing to EFRA registration policy and procedures as per below.

Registration Policy & Procedures:

Fees:

  • Fees are determined annually by the EFRA Board of Direcotors, adjusted for inflation and increased costs as required
  • EFRA strives to set fees in relation to the level of commitment and ice-time associated with each level of play and team
  • Regardless of how you choose to pay for the fees, all players must register on-line through the RAMP registration portal
  • All player registration fees include Ringette Ontario's membership fees, dues and insurance as well as fees associated with the Great Lakes Ringette League (GLRL) and Lower Ontario Ringette League (LORL)
  • Player registration fees include some player development, such as Power Skating
  • Tournament and team specific costs such as additional ice-time, additional skill development, team wear, etc. are separate from EFRA registration fees. These team fees determined at the onset of the season, and are to be split equally between players. These fees are separate from registration fees, included as part of team budgets, and under the responsibility of the team's Head Coach and appointed team Manager.

    • This cost is the responsibility of each family and not reimbursed by EFRA

    • The online course costs $12 (+HST), and is transferable to other sports involved in Respect in Sport

  • Payment is made by credit card through the RAMP registration form or by eTransfer to payments@elorafergusringette.ca.
  • For any players who are released to another association fees will be transferred if they have registered with EFRA already, and after the Athlete Release Form has been signed by all parties.
  • For safety and insurance purposes, registrants are not allowed to participate on the ice until registration is complete and payment has been made.
  • Provincial teams (A, AA athletes) will have additional fees as outlined by each designated team.
  • EFRA, as always, is willing to work with families on an individual basis if there are challenges with the registration fee requirements. Please contact efr@elorafergusringette.ca to make alternate arrangements.
    • The Children’s Foundation of Guelph and Wellington provides financial assistance for children in need so they can participate in sports, cultural and recreational activities. Funds are available for the activity of the child’s choice as long as the activity will benefit and enrich his or her own personal development. • Registrants are NOT eligible for a refund if player is offered a position on a team that is not at their division/level/preference and subsequently withdraws

Volunteer Fee:

  • Elora Fergus Ringette Association is a non-profit organization. Our existence is dependent upon the contributions of our volunteers.
  • Each family with players registered in Fun 2 to U19 shall volunteer at least 1 instance for the association throughout the season
    • Volunteer opportunities include but are not limited to board and committee participation, coaching/bench staff opportunities, off-ice officiating for games, coordination of fundraising and events, etc.
  • A fee of $150 will be required (one per family) with registration fees to be held in trust and returned to the family if volunteer requirement is met.
    • If your family has not completed their volunteer hours prior to the end of the season, the $150 fee will not be returned

NSF Cheques

  • An NSF fee of $30 will apply to all payments returned for non-sufficient funds. EFRA reserves the right to refuse payment via personal cheque in cases where an NSF has occurred twice in the past five years or in cases where an NSF incident was not immediately rectified following a request to do so

Team Formation

  • Official teams will be finalized with the leagues at the end of September of each year
  • Please note that we may need to place a child in a different age group than what you originally selected based on registration numbers to create teams
  • Similarly we cannot guarantee that players will be grouped with the same teams year over year
  • We will let you know prior to doing so and will do our very best not to change age groups unless required
  • EFRA strives to make playing ringette and learning to skate the priority and realize that it must be fun and challenging for your child or they won’t want to continue to play
